India is my country it has the oldest civilization and tradition. Many types of people live in India. Many people follow their tradition and culture even today. After the basic needs of the people food, clothing and shelter next comes the Entertainment. In Tamil tradition, “Iyal, Isai, Naadagam”(Art, Music, Drama) is classifying the art form. In that, the dance plays a major portion from those days. Not only in Tamil tradition in all the states of India, wherever we go, we can find their traditional dance form. Now-a-days, the dance is taught to the interested students in their school, in dance school, or even taken as the special class by the dance experts. Dance has become the vital part of our society and it has got mingled well within the people. In this we are going to look at the different kinds of dance of the different states of India and also the famous personalities who are outstanding in Dance.

It’s an integral part of Indian culture and each region has a distinctive classical style for instance, Kuchipudi of Andhra pradesh,Bharathanatyam of Tamilnadu,Kathak of Orissa and Kathakali of Kerala. Folk Dance forms are no less appreciated. Whether the movements are stylized or extemporized, whether costumes are elaborate or makeshift, they have wowed the world.

The country India has distinctive styles of music, both in the classical and folk traditions. Many musical instruments native to India are appreciated by music lovers sans boundaries. India has also gifted greats like A.R.Rahman and Pandit Ravi Shankar to the world.

  1. well it was useful but not to a great extent as some states were missing . however it was amazing to have learmt the names of all the dances . thanks .
